Many of our actions in life are motivated by intentions. As January begins, it is a common practice to set intentions for the year ahead by making New Year’s resolutions. But our intentions don’t always result in the outcome we hope for or desire. Do we, should we, attend to the difference between our intentions and the impact our behavior actually has?
Rev. David A. Miller is the senior minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax Virginia. He is the congregation’s lead minister and is responsible for the programs and staff related to worship, social justice, and stewardship. David was raised Jewish in the Skokie/Evanston area just north of Chicago. He has a B.S. degree in political science from the University of Utah and received his Master of Divinity degree from the Claremont School of Theology in 2008 with an emphasis in social transformation.
