Dr. Cliff Montagne, Professor Emeritus at Montana State University, will share his observations on the rich spiritual history of the people of Mongolia. Genghis Khan practiced a type of shamanism characterized by a strong connection and reverence for the natural world. As Khan expanded the empire, he was influenced by and tolerant of Buddhism and other faith traditions. This presentation will connect to our 6th principle: The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. Genghis Khan is the focus of the current exhibit at the Museum of the Rockies.
