This year’s General Assembly service will be led by Rev. Jen Youngsun Ryu, Minister of the UU Church in Eugene, OR. Born in Seoul and raised in Ohio, Rev. Ryu discovered Unitarian Universalism as a young adult and was drawn to a faith that honors both “the tough mind and the tender heart.” Following years of lay leadership, parish ministry, district service, and healthcare chaplaincy specializing in oncology care, she returned to parish ministry in 2021. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of her ordination this year, Rev. Ryu brings a deep commitment to compassionate ministry and a conviction that our liberal faith, practiced with honesty and love, changes lives for the good.
