This Sunday will be a presentation of the 2021 Ware Lecture presented at the UUA General Assembly. It features two voting rights activists, Stacey Abrams and Desmond Meade. Desmond Meade is a civil rights activist in Florida working to change disenfranchisement laws and other barriers preventing formerly incarcerated citizens from fully participating in civic life. He has written the book Let My People Vote. Stacey Abrams is the former Georgia House Minority Leader and current gubernatorial candidate In Georgia. The presentation includes discussion lead by Rev. Susan Frederick Gray, President of UUA. Those attending are invited to participate in small group discussions about the topic following the service.
This presentation will be shown in person at UUFB. There will not be a live stream of the service but a link to the video will be sent out on the listserv.
