When a Blue Star Becomes a Gold Star

Starting in World War I, flags with a Blue Star displayed in windows became a way for families to let others in their community know their loved one was deployed in the military. For some of these families, the Blue Stars later became Gold Stars, a symbol of a loved one who would never come home. On this Memorial Day weekend and with “the goal of world community with peace” are stories from Gold Star families and their own quest for peace.
