Acceptance of one another is how the Third Principle of the Unitarian Universalist Association begins. While one might initially think it only right and proper for a religious organization to promote and encourage acceptance of one another, in reality, the process of transforming this concept into lived action can be a significant challenge. What does acceptance of one another actually mean? Does it require that we accept everything another does without questioning, demonstrating concern, or even expressing disagreement? We will explore what acceptance of one another might mean and what it isn’t intended to mean in our religious tradition.
