The holiday grew out of the suffering and struggles of workers who, in the 19th century, began organizing to seek better working conditions and treatment, including fair wages, from their employers. As we celebrate this Labor Day, the gains of the labor movement are being undermined and dismantled. How might we support the workers who are struggling and suffering today?
